This is the forum for responsible debate about the proposed development of Bay Beach in the Town of Fort Erie, Ontario. This blog is intended to engage as many residents of the community as possible and to understand their opinions. This blog will try to be a clearing house, as it were, of information about the Crystal Beach Gateway project. As well as soliciting information and opinions from the general public, attempts will be made to garner comments from experts on technical matters.

A lot of garbage has been flung regarding the Bay Beach project, but a lot of valid arguments have been put forward as well.

My purpose with this blog is to sort the relevant from the irrelevant, the true from the untrue.

However the plan evolves or dies, the important thing is that a sensible decision is made based on factual information, informed judgment and considered opinion.

It irritates me to no end to witness people trying to influence public opinion with misinformation and personal aspersions, threats and insults. Being scatter-brained bugs me too.

I'm a professional writer, so I don't write for free, and I ain't going to start now. I'm not going to wax ad nauseam about what I think about this project. I'll just get things started, clarify information as needed, delete offensive posts and try to referee the situation.

Confidentially, I hope everybody completely ignores this blog because I do have better things to do. However, that will not keep me from trying to solicit information and opinions.
